Welcome to English Street Learning. My name is Karina. I am an ESL teacher and IELTS tutor. Prior to this, I worked as a Primary School Teacher here in England for five years mainly in Key Stage 2.  I have a Bachelors Degree in English and a  PGCE. I have a 120 Hour TEFL Certificate and continually attend a variety of CPD courses in relation to many aspects of teaching. I attend the monthly British Council IELTS webinars for both teachers and students to ensure that my knowledge of the exam remains up to date. I also attend the Cambridge Assessment English webinars which provide invaluable information about exams, and cover a wide spectrum of subjects, including effective teaching methods, tips to improve student engagement and online professional development.

At the heart of everything that I do is my passion for teaching, learning and my commitment to my students. I truly believe that teaching and learning is a partnership. Establishing a good relationship between teacher and student is fundamental to achieving any form of academic success. I enjoy getting to know my students as individual learners and exploring teaching techniques and learning exercises to help them achieve their full potential. 

All my English lessons are now conducted online via Skype and zoom. However, I previously taught in Moscow, where I was employed by E.F. I worked with a variety of large corporate firms as an ESL teacher. I delivered individual and group English courses in both business and general English.
